Back pain is common during pregnancy & after baby
these three moves will eliminate that pain for you.
Back pain is a common ailment in mothers who are pregnant and for those who have had a baby. In fact over 31 million Americans suffer from low back pain, predominantly women experience this more than men.
During pregnancy as our bodies are adjusting to the weight of the baby on the front side, our back tends to do all the work for this weight adjustment. There is a very simple fix to this issue and that is understanding how to properly turn on your core so that your back doesn’t have to do all the heavy lifting for you! (Check out the Ebook for more info on that!)
These 3 moves will help you reduce the back pain you may be experiencing during pregnancy OR maybe baby is already here and you still can’t seem to get rid of that back pain!
- BREATHE THROUGH YOUR DIAPHRAGM:
Breathing through your diaphragm allows you to reconnect to your deep muscles, some of those being your spine and deep core, bringing more oxygen to these areas which will bring more blood flow, which will reduce aches and low back pain. Our deep muscles, like your spine muscles run on oxygen! So you need to remember to get air to them so they can do their job.
2.CAT/COW STRETCH
This stretch allows you stretch your back out and bring back mobility into the spin. Many of us sit many hours a day or do not have proper alignment which contributes to that low back pain. As you do your cat/cow stretch be sure to focus on breathing through your diaphragm and really rocking the pelvis back and forth. When you do this you can then find your ‘neutral’ pelvis position.
- PROPER ALIGNMENT
Being sure that your body is in the proper alignment is going to make drastic changes for your low back pain! During pregnancy we tend to get stuck in the ‘butt pop’ leaving our pelvis out of alignment which causes lots of different pains. After baby comes we tend to get stuck in this position and never correct it…being conscious of your posture throughout your day will help immensely!
IN CONCLUSION:
These 3 steps will help eliminate back pain in the moment. Making breathing through your diaphragm a habit will continue to bring you health benefits. Checking in on your alignment daily will also benefit in you many ways, being sure to check while sitting at a desk, sitting on the couch and standing washing dishes will again start to help immensely throughout your day.
