Surviving your first trimester
Whelp! You’re pregnant; welcome to your first trimester momma! That long awaited moment, longer for some & possibly a surprise for others.
Regardless of HOW you got here; you are HERE momma, growing a miracle & that is something quite amazing!
However; along with the first trimester, come some pretty interesting side effects! Of course not everyone will feel the same way but some things you MIGHT be experiencing:
- Extreme fatigue
- Nausea/vomiting
- Frequent urination
- Bloating
- Sore breasts
- Headaches
Did I miss anything?! Usually most of us in the first trimester notice the tiredness and the nausea/vomiting the most frequently. ;
These things are NOT curable but there are a few things you should put into place so that you can limit the effects of some of these symptoms.
5 TIPS TO SURVIVE FIRST TRIMESTER OF PREGNANCY:
- Drink water! So many of us are dehydrated and this leads to headaches, bloating and fatigue. When we are hydrated these symptoms are reduced or either eliminated completely!
- Take 10 minute power walks when you can. This will jumpstart your brain and get that blood flowing to wake you up. Short little bursts like this are very energizing and will help you get through the slump more than anything else!
- Take a Prenatal if you aren’t already. This will continue to keep your body functioning at its best and reduce headaches and that brain fog a bit. I prefer this one from Ritual; it only has 12 ingredients…the MOST essential ones at that & doesn’t make you sick or turn your pee bright orange.
- Eat Protein at every meal! Especially in the morning..smoothies are your BEST friend. You will probably have food aversions, like craving something so badly until you cook it and smell it than want to hurl. (telling it real here folks). I always diverted to thick, creamy smoothies
- Don’t beat yourself up; if you have to stop running 5 miles a day..that is OK. It is not the end of the world. BONUS: Start understanding HOW to do a belly pump & breathing through your diaphragm! This will get that blood flowing to your body and brain & your sweet babe.
