Nervous System Reset

May 20, 2026 by Coach Kaitlin Leave a Comment

Ok this one is For the Modern Moms out there.

The ones who are working full time and trying to take care of their family.

The ones who are homeschooling their kiddos and trying to take care of their family.

The modern mom is doing all the mom things on top of work, on top of kids, on top of a spouse, on top of cooking and cleaning and sport practices.

Yeah, I see you and I am you.

I have been thinking hard on where to focus and how to get the focus of our breathing to the forefront. Well here it is. And I made it just for you; the modern mom of 2026.

Modern motherhood does not fit into 60-minute gym sessions and macro spreadsheets, personal trainers or a personal chef who does our cooking for us. You need something quieter, smarter and built around the body you have right now; you don’t have a lot of extra time and I can relate, but you can still take time for you.

Before you Push hard, lets learn to rebuild smarter.

Restore your core, support your pelvic floor, calm your stress response and reconnect with your body–starting with the way your breathe.

Most moms are skipping the step their body actually needs. They don’t need another workout plan, they don’t need a more restrictive diet, they don’t need to push harder.

What you need is to repair first, regulate and then strengthen.

So I developed this 5 step system (and I”m giving your the first one free because we all need this in our life!)

5 Step System:

  1. Breathing

  2. Pelvic Floor & Core

  3. Walking

  4. Plate it

  5. Strength Training

Why your breath is the first thing your body actually needs! (Keep reading for your free 5 minute reset)

The signals you may have been ignoring…

And lets preface it isn’t your fault. Maybe you feel no diet or workout program was built for you, the modern mom, who is constantly on the go and is putting everything else before taking care of you. You’ve tried ALL THE THINGS and keep coming up short and think you failed or don’t have what it takes. (false)

It is not your fault, you are not a failure and it isn’t because you haven’t found ‘the right thing’. It is because the system is broken and doesn’t support us, the modern mom.

You are not broken, you are disconnected.

You wake up tired, you may struggle with a lower belly pouch regardless of your efforts to ‘diet and restrict.” You leak when you sneeze or jump. You attempt a workout program but the first few days leave you wired and wiped. You are stressed in a way that no bathtub time is going to fix and worst of all you think it is because you have no willpower. It isn’t.

  • belly pooch won’t budge

  • leaking when you sneeze, run or jump

  • exhaustion that sleep doesn’t touch

  • weight that won’t move no matter what you do

  • workouts make you feel worse, not better

  • nervous System stuck in low-grade panic

These are not separate problems, They are one problem, wearing six different costumes. The one problem no other fitness program or trainer is going to teach you.

Most moms think core = abs, but your breath is the core!

You’re diaphragm and pelvic floor are a single pressure system. When you breath well, they move together–the diaphragm drops, the pelvic floor descends, the deep abdominal wall engages. That is true coordination of your core. Not the visual of the six pack, not planks or burpees or lifting heavy. This breath system is the system that is hiding under all of that and needs to be addressed first.

When this ‘hiding’ system is offline, no amount of sit ups, dieting, squats or cardio will fix it.

What breathing ACTUALLY does:

Core activation– reawakens the deep stabilizers that sit ups can’t reach

Pelvic Floor restoration– your pelvic floor follows your breath

Nervous system regulation– shifts you out of survival mode so the body will let go of weight, tension and inflammation

Energy recovery– stops the cortisol drip that’s draining you by 10a.m

The FIRST fitness skill– you need this breath focus before you pick up a weight or tell yourself you failed another ‘diet’

Three ways to see this process:

  1. The foundation, you wouldn’t build a house on a cracked foundation or quick sand! your breath is the foundation of your core.

  2. The charger: Your nervous system is running on 2%, your breath is the charger.

  3. The Pressure: Your core is a pressure system. Breathing regulates the pressure.

This is where your body stops surviving and starts rebuilding.

You’ don’t need another program that asks of a body that’s already maxed out. You need the one skill that makes every other skill work. Five or ten minutes. No equipment, no gym, no diets.

I’m going to walk you through this quick system reset that will reset your core, pelvic floor and stress response–so everything else starts working!

This is the exhale you have been waiting for:
