The 9 Best Pieces of Equipment for Your 2021 Home Gym

The 9 Best Pieces of Equipment for Your Home Gym.

Working out from home as a busy mother will save your sanity. Getting to the gym can be a serious struggle with little ones; so why not create your own in home gym.

It can be extremely simple, utilizing Amazon or your local FB marketplace or Craigslist for local un-used equipment. These are basic needed items. as a busy mom you want to keep it simple!

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO WORKOUT AT HOME?

YOU HONESTLY DO NOT NEED MUCH, AND IT CAN BE A WORK IN PROGRESS. A GREAT PLACE TO LOOK IS AMAZON, TJMAXX OR TARGET. DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT LOCAL LISTINGS IN YOUR AREA FOR THINGS LIKE A USED BENCH, CARDIO EQUIPMENT ETC.

Dumbbells are certainly beneficial if you are into lifting weights; These are not too clunky to have around especially if your kiddos end up finding them.

Kettle bells are another simple weight system to have. Having one or two in a heavier weight is extremely versatile. This one is coated which is again helpful when you have little ones around.

Small Loop Bands!

Are amazing and extremely versatile, if you don’t want to deal with heavy weights you can use these on your legs or added resistance with arm movements also. These have been my favorite brand & are cost effective.

Larger resistance bands!

Again extremely versatile, these you can hook to a doorway or anchor to do pull backs or other arm variations. Hands done my favorite.

Long, un-looped resistance bands.

These are really beneficial if you are into Pilates or yoga or stretching. Another great option for added resistance & versatility.

Gorilla Mats

Having a dedicated space to workout really sets the mood. If that space is in your basement, garage or other area having a mat is helpful to reduce bounce, and for floor work. Also helpful as your kiddos climb all over you while your workout.

Small Pilates Ball.

This small ball doesn’t look like much but it can really bring the heat when you add it into any pelvic floor, core or glute exercise!

I highly recommend these to any of my mommas who are pregnant or returning to movement after baby.  These are fantastic for adding a bit of burn but not to much allowing you to keep your form & alignment.

Best cardio equipment for home gym

You could get enough cardio in chasing after your kiddos; but if you still need a bit more in your day these are some great, highly popular choices. Especially for those living in cold climates in the winter. A bike is wonderful for low impact movement during pregnancy and after baby.

IN CONCLUSION:

Start with a few items; add on to your gym as time goes by. As always purchase responsibly, have a plan for fitness & remember it’s finding what motivates & inspires you to move; not what that person on instagram of facebook is doing.
